This site belongs to Tony Pisani (Anthony R. Pisani, Ph.D.). It is a personal professional site. It has no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. This page describes the two places where personal information is handled: the contact form on this site, and a private Google account tool called Heidi that uses this domain as its home page.

The contact form

If you write through the contact form, the site sends your name, email address, organization (if you give one), the type of inquiry, and your message to Tony by email. The email is delivered through Resend, an email delivery service. Nothing you submit is stored in a database on this site. Your message lives in Tony's email inbox like any other message, and he uses it only to reply to you.

To limit spam, the server keeps a short-lived, in-memory count of submissions per network address for fifteen minutes. That count is not written anywhere and is discarded when the window passes.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard server logs (request time, path, network address, browser type) for operating the service. Fonts are bundled with the site at build time, so page views do not send requests to Google Fonts or any other third party. No analytics script runs on this site.

Heidi, a private Google account tool

Heidi is a personal assistant tool that Tony built for his own use. It is registered with Google as an OAuth application, and Google requires a public home page and privacy policy for it. This domain and this page serve that purpose.

Heidi connects only to Google accounts that Tony owns. It reads and organizes email and calendar data in those accounts so that Tony can review his own correspondence and schedule. It is not offered to the public, no one else can sign in to it, and it does not collect information about visitors to this site.

Heidi's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not sold, not used for advertising, not transferred to third parties except as needed to run the tool on Tony's own computers, and not used to train generalized machine learning models. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google account's security settings, which immediately ends the tool's access.

Your choices and contact

If you have sent a message through the contact form and want it deleted, or have any question about this page, write through the contact form and say so. This page will be updated if the way the site handles information changes.
